Rosa Parks Tribute and Google Earth Placemark

A tribute to the lady that helped spark the civil rights movement.
Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man forty years ago on December 1, 1955, she was tired and weary from a long day of work. Her arrest and trial received national attention. It also sparked a 381-day Montgomery bus boycott. Finally, the Supreme Court ruled in November 1956 that segregation on transportation is unconstitutional. Rosa Parks is now seen as a hero, standing up for racial injustices. If it were not for Rosa we wouldn't be where we are today. Though indeed we still have a long way to go. We are still better off than we were 50 years ago.
