WORLD DIGITAL LIBRARY: Library of Congress to create WDL - Google First Private Sector

Just recently today, Google co-founder Sergey Brin and Librarian of Congress James H. Billington announced Google as the first private-sector company to with a funding of $3 million.

World Digital Library (WDL) is planned to be created for use by other libraries around the world. The content of the World Digital Library, like that of American Memory, will be primarily one-of-a-kind materials, including manuscript and multimedia materials of the particular culture.
